DUETTE® Energy Saving Calculator
This energy saving calculator for DUETTE® Shades has been developed from scratch on a scientific basis. With the support of the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics (product parameters for sun shading), the engineering office Prof. Dr. Hauser (calculation engine) and cooperating IT companies, the energy-saving calculator is based on a complex calculation simulation whose structure meets the high requirements of professional, energetic building evaluations (thermal/dynamic simulation as an engineering procedure according to DIN 4108-2: 2013-02).
As essential points for the calculations, the following are included, among others:
-
average usage boundary conditions of the different house/apartment types and living spaces,
-
weather data of the Potsdam location used as average climate in energy calculations on an hourly basis (test reference year),
-
geometric data of room and building types with variable window sizes,
-
building component constructions corresponding to an average building weight.
Als produktbezogene Größen der einzelnen Stoffqualitäten finden Verwendung:
-
the ΔR values determined by the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics
-
the FC values resulting for the window/sun protection system.
In the simplified form of calculation used here, the actual, energetic values of a window situation can be calculated for the specified cases. In the professional building assessment, the exact values are considered on a case-by-case basis, e.g. with regard to the location, the exact window dimensions and the actually existing room geometries and component structures. Therefore, Hunter Douglas does not guarantee or assume liability for achieving the calculated energy savings potential.
The Energy Saving Calculator can give you valuable and important information about the energy saving potential possible with our products. Despite the greatest possible care and the information you provide on the intended use of our products, such as the type of building, the type of window and the other conditions of use, the results calculated by the energy savings calculator can naturally only be approximate values - and not exact information - because the calculation of the exact energy savings potential is only possible on the basis of all the concrete data of the specific use in each individual case. For example, even with otherwise identical building types, the savings potential naturally also depends on the concrete circumstances of the individual case in addition to the specifics queried; such as the wall thickness and the material used as well as its insulating properties, any neighbouring buildings and/or also the concrete window quality, etc. The calculator cannot calculate the exact energy savings potential from these details that are unknown to the calculator. These details, which are unknown to the computer, can lead to results that deviate from the reported results under real conditions. Such deviations can - depending on the conditions at the place of use - have an unfavourable or favourable effect on the calculated savings potential. Please take this variance into account when using the energy saving calculator.
